Fred, who was not even our agent, he was the Listing Agent of a house we purchased, was a huge help to us in the escrow process. The house was in great shape but some minor fixers still needed to be done prior to closing. Fred made sure those things were taken care of and kept us abreast. He also found ways to make it easier for us to sign documents, which saved us time and kept us on schedule. We also had a major last minute lender issue that threatened to delay closing and Fred reached out to them in support; he spent several hours trying to get them to rescind their last minute change in terms. This was something he didn't have to do and we appreciated it. Fred also made sure we had all the manuals and warranties we needed and even introduced us to several of the neighbors, which helped us to feel more comfortable with our purchase. Lastly, after we closed, we had trouble programming the thermostat, that was installed just prior to closing. Fred came over to help but we could not make it work. Fred had the installer come out to check and met him there. The thermostat was installed correctly; so Fred had an HVAC person come out and program it. Fred said the installer should have done the programming but didn't know how and said that should not have been the case. So he paid the HVAC person out of his own pocket. Not our agent; but definitely a first class kind of guy.
